The Milton Historical Society is thrilled to announce its second annual King Cole Cannery Celebrity Chef Cook-off and Basket Raffle on Saturday, September 9, 2017 from 5-8 pm at the Milton Fire Hall, 116 Front Street, Milton, DE.
Our museum is a no admission educational experience for residents of the town and visitors alike. We see more than 1500 guests annually from all over the hemisphere. We host low cost monthly educational lectures as well as quarterly new exhibits. We engage every second grade class in the town of Milton as part of a field trip at no cost to the children or schools. We host three unique library programs. Revenue raised by our annual fund raiser goes toward paying for these programs and the general operating expenses of keeping the museum free and open to the public.
WHAT IS THE EVENT? Celebrity chefs from Sussex County including Po' Boys, Matt's Fish Camp Lewes, Almost Home Catering, Lavender Fields, A Different Kitchen and Abbott’s Grill to name a few will prepare a tasting plate sized cook-off entry. For the cost of admission, guests will be provided:
- Cold appetizers
- A small plate portion of each chef’s offering
- Ice cream, donated by King’s Ice Cream
- Complimentary water and soda AND
- A vote for the King Cole Cannery Celebrity Chef Cook-off winner
Tickets are $35 for members who pay before noon on Friday, September 8. All tickets purchased at the door will be $45. Wine and beer available.
WHAT IS THE RAFFLE? MHS will raffle off more than a dozen specialty baskets during the King Cole Cannery Celebrity Chef Cook-off and Basket Raffle. Baskets are themed and valued at more than $150 each. Raffle tickets are $10 each or 5 for $40. To participate in the raffle:

- Call for raffle tickets. They will be mailed to you.
- Visit MHS to purchase your tickets.
- Stop in between Friday, August 25 and September 8 during normal business hours to see the baskets and enter your tickets in advance.
